Enlightenment Essentials: HTML Resources
Where can I find good information about creating
a Web page (HTML)?
-
To get started writing your Web page, check out A
Beginner's Guide to HTML.
-
Be sure to avoid The Top Fifteen
Mistakes of First Time Web Design and the Top Ten Mistakes in Web Design.
-
To look up a particular tag, use Netscape's HTML
Tag Reference.
-
If you already know HTML basics, go to The
Bare Bones Guide to HTML for a concise reference.
-
Once you are an HTML master, be sure to visit (often) the W3C
- The World Wide Web Consortium, which makes all of the technical rules
of HTML coding.
-
The Web Design Group takes the technical information provided by the World Wide Web Consortium, combines it with experience, and produces a wealth of resources designed to "promote the creation of non-browser specific, non-resolution specific, creative and informative sites that are accessible to all users worldwide." Their HTML 4.0 Reference is much easier to understand than the corresponding technical papers of the World Wide Web Consortium. Note: Avoid frames whenever possible! The Web Design Group has an excellent article about this entitled, What's wrong with frames?.
Where can I find a good Web hosting company?
Check out the Web Hosting Directories listed at DMoz.org.
